The Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation has a busy schedule
of events in 2008 and each activity gives you a chance to
support a worthy cause and relate directly to members of
Victoria Police. There will also be other activities organised
by our 12 Regional Branches in country Victoria who are working
to support the Blue Ribbon Foundation and provide new facilities
in their own local hospitals. |

Blue Ribbon Day 2008 |

Blue Ribbon Day on September 29th is a very special
occasion in Victoria
It is an expression of remembrance, support and
appreciation from the people of Victoria for their
police force. It not only remembers the heroic actions
of the officers who have given their lives in the line
of duty but also gives us an opportunity to simply say
"thank you" on one special day each year to the men and
women in blue who serve our community so very well.
You can participate in Blue Ribbon Day from September
1st by collecting a ribbon to wear on your lapel, a
ribbon for your car aerial or a decal for your car
window at any of these outlets

Larger RSL Clubs
Ribbons are free but you can make a voluntary donation
that will help to build the hospital facilities that
remember the sacrifice of our police officers.
BLUE RIBBON DAY SERVICES, 29th September
MELBOURNE
Times and venues for Blue Ribbon Day Memorial Services
are currently being finalised and will be posted to this
space closer to the day. Everyone is welcome at Memorial
services.
McDONALD'S DRIVE-THRU CHALLENGE 2008
Friday 12th September between 6pm & 7pm.
Mc Donald's in Victoria will attempt to set a new record
for serving the most number of customers in 1 hour
through their drive-thru restaurants on Friday 12th
September and at the same time, help the Blue Ribbon Day
Appeal.
For every vehicle that orders through a McDonald's
Drive-Thru Restaurant between 6pm & 7pm, McDonald's will
donate $1 to the Blue Ribbon Foundation.
So round up family and friends and head to your local
McDonald's Drive-Thru to help this worthy cause. Police
members will be on hand to "speed up the service" and
welcome customers. McDonald's characters and Constable
T. Bear will be appearing at selected McDonald's
Restaurants. |
