Rowley, Josiah

Constable, 4647

At about 9.45 a.m. on Tuesday, 28th December 1897, Constable Rowley was returning from duty at Psyche Bend when he attempted to cross a makeshift bridge over King's Billabong. The area was flooded and dangerous, and Rowley's horse fell. The Constable was apparently driven down under the weight of the animal, and drowned.
