Donation Information

We can be grateful that we live in a community where people are always willing to help out their neighbours and others in need. We are acknowledged as being among the most generous people in the world and unrivalled when it comes to "helping our mates".

This spirit is exemplified with the application of donations received by the Blue Ribbon Foundation.

When you make a donation to the Blue Ribbon Foundation it will be used to fund new medical treatment facilities in Victoria's public hospitals and most often, to provide new or improved emergency and trauma facilities.

We also make a commitment that your donation will make a very real difference in your community because 100% of voluntary donations are used for projects in public hospitals.

None of your donation will be used for administration or other costs associated with running the foundation and none is used for welfare support of police families.

Every hospital unit that receives funding from the Blue Ribbon Foundation is named in memory of an officer who has given his/her life in the line of duty.

We remember these officers, not for how they died, but for how they lived - serving the community.

By dedicating hospital facilities in their names, we honour their memories in the same way - through service to the community and helping its citizens in times of emergency and disaster.

More than 75,000 patients receive treatment every year in hospital units funded by the Blue Ribbon Foundation. They receive a wide range of treatments and there are many people who owe their lives to the existence of such units, their equipment and the medical staff who work in them.

But there's an ever-increasing need to continue this work and with the support of our very generous community, the Blue Ribbon Foundation will be able to provide more facilities in the years to come.

Donations over $2 are tax-deductible and all donations will be acknowledged.


Workplace Giving
This allows you to make regular donations from your pay packets and deliver an instant tax-deduction by decreasing your taxable income. Even small amounts donated through this system can make a big difference across an entire year, especially if we have many people contributing amounts every week.

Bequests
Everyone needs a Will. It's your way of showing that you care - and ensures that your assets are distributed according to your wishes.

When you make your Will you have an opportunity to enhance, and possibly save, the lives of other people, especially those who are victims of accident or trauma.

A bequest in your Will can help the Blue Ribbon Foundation to continue its life-saving work throughout Victoria and it can be made in various ways.

You can choose to leave a legacy as a financial gift.

You may leave a portion of your estate or your legacy could be in a different form such as shares or real estate.

Every bequest, no matter how large or small is treasured and will be acknowledged in our Book of Memorial Bequests.

Throughout our adult life our assets change so it's important to periodically review our Will. Perhaps when you next review your Will you may include a bequest to the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation Trust.

Your solicitor can contact the foundation's office to arrange the details or, if you're using a "do-it-yourself" Will kit, the following is statement that you can include;

I ______________ leave to Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation Inc, of 2 Central Ave Moorabbin, Victoria for its general purposes _$_____________ and declare that the receipt or acknowledgement of its Chief Executive Officer or other authorised officer will be sufficient to discharge the responsibility of my Executors or Trustees in respect of this bequest.
We live in times when sometimes it is unclear whether your generosity will be used for the purpose that inspired you to donate. Since the formation of the Blue Ribbon Trust, the account to which all voluntary donations and bequests are deposited, the only withdrawals have been for donations to public hospitals for projects specifically identified and approved by the Blue Ribbon Foundation. This is a policy that will continue so that we can always honour our pledge to our donors that 100% of their contribution will be used for the community's benefit.
